Tevere-Farfa Locanda (Inn)

Eco-cooking par excellence

Fresh air and tranquility bring time almost to a stop at this bucolic rest house on the Tiber’s (Tevere’s) serpentine embankment. Designed for bird watching, nature walks, and gentle evenings under the stars, the surrounding park restores health and spirits while offering a unique venue for cooking classes that emphasize local traditions.

Hosted by innkeeper Luigi Scarpati, the Tevere-Farfa’s cooking classes cover full course meals, from antipasto to dessert. Participants quickly learn the secret of many delicious dishes—“Sabina's gold”—the local olive oil. Organic pecorino cheese and several kinds of meat—lamb, wild boar, pork, and veal—are locally produced and featured on the menus. And of course there is homemade pasta!

Double or single rooms with private baths are filled with sunshine and views of the nature preserve.  A comfortable, common lounge area offers round-the-clock beverages and fruit.
