The tours begin from our base, located in the rolling olive hills north of Rome, known as the Sabina. When the Romans needed women to increase Rome’s waning population, they stole the Sabine women in a famous episode called The Rape of the Sabine Women, often captured in sculpture and painting. Later, the Sabina women returned to make peace between their new Roman husbands and their families. The Rome-Sabina connection is still strong today.
