Sunday: Participants arrive throughout the day. Relaxed walks, optional visit to S. Cataldo church 5 pm, 8 pm dinner, orientation and tour packets distributed.

Monday: Visit the Albert Moravia Foundation in Rome in the morning and enjoy a Roman lunch with a guest academic. In late afternoon visit Keats’ and Shelley’s house at the Spanish Steps; Axel Munthe also lived in the house more than 150 years later. (We tour Munthe’s San Michele home on Capri later in the week.) Home for dinner. Moravia movie optional.

Tuesday: We follow D.H. Lawrence’s footsteps to discover Etruscan ruins and culture; visit to Tarquinia’s archaeological museum. Picnic lunch. Home for dinner. Optional film.

Wednesday: A trip to Hadrian’s Villa, the spellbinding ruins of the famed Roman Emperor (117–138); picnic lunch; afternoon visit to Villa d’Este for coffee or gelato; dinner at Quello Che C’e, C’e restaurant. Liqueur-making lesson with our host Letizia Gabbuti.

Thursday: Visit the Benedictine Farfa Abbey, one of Europe’s most famous, steeped in legend and history, and home to one of Europe's richest libraries at the end of the eleventh century. Lunch at La Vechhia Quercia restaurant; late afternoon visit to Vescovio Sanctuary. Home for dinner.

Friday–Saturday: Overnight trip to Capri to visit Axel Munthe’s San Michele. Participants are free to roam Capri before and after the San Michele tour—opportunity for shopping. Return home Saturday late afternoon; pizza dinner at L’Asprese Restaurant.
